What is keyword density?
Keyword density is the percentage of times your target keyword appears in a piece of content relative to the total word count. A density between 0.5% and 2.5% is generally considered healthy for on-page SEO. Below 0.5% and your content may not clearly signal relevance to search engines. Above 2.5% risks looking like keyword stuffing — which Google actively penalises.
Keyword placement matters more than frequency
Beyond density, where your keyword appears matters. Google gives extra weight to keywords in the first 100 words, in H1 and H2 headings, and in the last paragraph. Use this checker to confirm your keyword appears early and naturally throughout the content — not just crammed in at random.
